Super Neighborhood Council 14

The SNC-14 meets bi-monthly, the second Wednesday of even months at Heights Library, 1302 Heights Blvd., from 6:15 p.m. – 7:45 p.m.

2017 meeting dates are: 2-8-17; 4-12-17; 6-14-17; 8-9-17; 10-11-17 and 12-13-17.

At the December meeting, HPD Heights Storefront Officer Escamilla discussed area crime statistics, trends and offered crime prevention tips.

As a result of data accumulated for the Timbergrove and Holly Park traffic study, the City has put forth a proposal that involves speed bumps on certain streets in the northwest quadrant of Timbergrove and Seamist to address speeding and cut-through traffic.

A public comment period will take place most likely in mid-2017 before any plan is finalized. SNC-14 efforts for a traffic study for Ella Blvd., especially in front of Sinclair, have so far resulted in improved signage, repainted crosswalks and pedestrian walkways. The SNC-14 will continue to pursue ways to control speeding and eliminate texting in a school zone.

A traffic study was also requested for W. 11th Street, particularly the area between Shirkmere and Shelterwood. So far, curve signs have been installed west of TC Jester and east of Shelterwood.

A final completion inspection of the Bryce Chemical Feed Station is scheduled for January 5, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. SNC-14 reps will attend. The Bryce Street Trailhead Park is expected to be completed in early 2017.

Visit www.snc-14.org for bylaws and a list of current Executive Council Officers and Delegates. The position of Correspondence Secretary is open. This is a term-limited, volunteer position, main duties of which can be fulfilled using email and committing to attend as many of the six meetings as possible.
