Security Committee Update

by the Security Committee

Many thanks to the generous neighbors who have made financial donations to support private security initiatives. SEAL Security officers have been busy not only with regular patrols (day and night shifts), but with numerous vacation patrols.

You can help too! Keep an eye out for your neighbors’ homes and report suspicious persons or concerns to the dedicated TMCC Patrol Hotline at (832) 956-1966.

If you haven’t made your 2018 donation to support neighborhood security, you can give now at timbergrove.org or by mail. Suggested donations are $250 per household or $175 for Seniors.

TMCC is Lit!

A big shout out to SEAL Officer Salvador for stopping to log the details of ten street light outages during one of his recent nighttime patrols. The security committee followed up his report with 311 requests most of which have been resolved. What a great way to support TMCC’s PLAN (Porch Lights At Night) campaign. Below is a list of lights reported..

  • Light 210975 on 6200 Block of Hurst
  • Light 210974 on 1000 Block of Shirkmere
  • Lights 215664, 215665 and 215666 on 1600 Block of Droxford
  • Light 215667 on 1500 Block of Droxford
  • Light 216665 on 1600 Block of Droxford
  • Light 215666 on 1600 Block of Droxford
  • Light 210998 on 6200 Block of Abington
  • Light 210999 on 6200 Block of Abington

You can do your part too. If you know of another street light that isn’t shining bright, please report it to 311. And turn on your porch light tonight — and every night!

Crime Update

While an analysis of year-to-date crime through the end of May shows neighborhood thefts are down from 2017 levels, two recent burglaries doubled the 2018 totals. However, burglaries are still under values for the same time last year and significantly less than prior years. Nevertheless, the need to be diligent remains, especially after a robbery attempt on a woman pushing a stroller at the end of May.

Please note: crime statistics are taken from publicly available sources and are, to the best of our knowledge, accurate and up to date. However, final numbers as reported by the Houston Police Department may change these statistics.
